What to expect from Odoo 19

Odoo 19 is still a few months away, but the buzz has already started and with the Odoo Experience 2025  happening earlier than previous years – 18 - 20th September – we could be getting a first look sooner than expected! Until then, we will be scanning the web for updates so stay tuned! 

  This article will be updated as more information is released so bookmark it and don’t miss out on any Odoo 19 news!

What did Odoo reveal about Odoo 19 so far?

New Odoo versions are revealed yearly at Odoo Experience – an event that brings together the global partner network and Odoo community in Brussels. For the past couple years, the OXP has happened in November and October. However, Odoo Experience 2025 dates have just been announced for September 18-20th – which means that we’ll be getting a first look at Odoo 19 even sooner than expected!

On April 4, the Odoo Partner Day added more fuel to the Odoo 19 anticipation. Fresh new details were shared during the event, and they give us a clearer picture of what Odoo 19 might bring very soon. We compiled all the recently released features from the Odoo 19 roadmap, app by app – and will be updating this section as more come along!

Website

Odoo 19 will improve its onboarding experience, from layout and theme search for your website, to reusing template pages and further customising templates to your business.


Odoo 19 Website will feature new website snippets – from this sneak peek, we can see new contact form snippets but lots more to come.


Odoo 19 will also bring great improvements to SEO - from automatic SEO & accessibility checks to detailed insights, the new version will be ready to optimise your website ranking.


Odoo Website will also feature a variety of improvements like:

  • OWL migration
  • Significant improvement to Blogs - layout, features, and more 
  • Portals and other pages will be enhanced by more detailed customisation 
  • Events can be created as standalone pages
  • Better text edition through floating toolbars
  • More detailed breadcrumb management

eCommerce

Odoo 19 will bring a design overhaul to eCommerce features. The new version will expand the layout selection for users when designing shop pages, and improve the look & feel of product pages with more design options.

New features for Odoo 19 eCommerce checkouts include a new Unit of Measure selector, an improved Click&Collect widget, and variant previews on Shop Page.

Odoo 19 will add new Dynamic Snippets, including eCommerce categories and payment methods. The new version will also introduce new integrations with Google Merchant Center and a partnership with worldwide print-on-demand service Gelato. It will also integrate with social media eCommerce like Meta and TikTok.

More areas of optimisation for Odoo 19 eCommerce include:

  • Content Management: Odoo 19 lets you add dynamic ribbons, edit checkout steps, and enable automated product suggestions.
  • SEO: Odoo 19 will improve SEO with cleaner URLs, structured microdata, and optimised pagination for faster indexing.
  • Performance: Odoo 19 adds visibility controls for categories and attribute values, plus better price filtering and sorting.
  • Design: Odoo 19 refreshes the cart, checkout, wish list, and comparator designs, while updating themes and responsiveness across the board.

Sales

Odoo 19 will introduce the following Payment Methods & Marketplaces:

  • Payment providers: Nuvei, Paymob, DPO, Redsyn, Iyzico.
  • Marketplaces: Shopee and Lazada.

Odoo 19 will allow users to add Sales Order sections in catalog, based on respective categories

Odoo 19 introduces key enhancements across its sales-related apps:

  • Sales: Odoo 19 will let you hide section details in sales orders, add default headers/footers to quotations, and improve the combo product experience with better optional product handling.
  • Rental: Odoo 19 will allow you to set default rental times, sync with work calendars, define pricelist rules, and manage transfers more efficiently.
  • Loyalty:  Odoo 19 will introduce fixed-price and discount-based rewards, support tiered discounts like "50% on 2nd and 4th cheapest," and deliver a full UI revamp.

Point of Sale

Odoo 19 Point of Sale will bring a UX revamp for its users, based on field experience.

With Odoo 19, users will be able to create and switch presets with more ease than ever before.

Dark Mode for POS is now available in Odoo 19.

Point of Sale will see various UX improvements, including easily switchable presets and support for product combos.

Inventory & Purchase

Units of Measure (UoM) and packaging models will be unified into one simplified structure, removing categories and packaging models while allowing multiple purchase units and sales packaging.

Odoo 19 will allow you to create multi-level packages and track them using either Odoo sequences or pre-printed roll numbers.

Odoo 19 will introduce a new dashboard with easier creation flows, including smart suggestions and sales order import options.

Odoo 19 will also bring custom serial numbers per product, improvements to the availability widget in sales orders, better replenishment logic, and smoother inter-company processes.

MRP

Odoo 19 will let you update work order statuses more flexibly, with the ability to move between stages like “To Do,” “In Progress,” or “Blocked” at any time.

Odoo 19 will simplify shop floor operations with a redesigned interface where components are easier to pick, instructions are clearly highlighted, and actions can be done directly on the card.

Odoo 19 will support product-specific lot and serial number sequences for more precise traceability.

CRM & Marketing

Odoo 19 will enhance sales and marketing flows with shared contact properties, CC replies in chatter, improved win-rate analysis, and overall better lead and chatter handling.

Odoo 19 will introduce a smarter bot step that forwards chats to agents based on their expertise, with a new option to create a lead and forward it in one go.

Odoo 19 introduces improvements across internal chat and customer support tools:

  • Discuss: Odoo 19 will enhance internal communication with emoji shortcuts, push notifications for call invites, and better integration with time off tracking.
  • Live Chat: Odoo 19 will let you route chats based on operator expertise, manage access rights more effectively, limit the number of concurrent sessions per agent, and automatically include files when creating support tickets.

VoIP

Odoo 19 will show caller details before you answer, introduce a sleek new interface, and add options like direct transfer, call merging, and in-call recording.

Knowledge

Odoo 19 will let you create reusable article templates and structure content more clearly using foldable toggles added via slash commands.

Accounting

Odoo 19 will improve accounting workflows with detailed full-text search in localised charts of accounts and automatic tax suggestions that factor in deductibility.

Odoo 19 will introduce tax return timelines, built-in validation checks, and easy localisation-based customisations.

Odoo 19 will revamp bank reconciliation with a cleaner interface that also works seamlessly on mobile devices.

Odoo 19 adds further optimisations across invoicing, banking, and reporting:

  • Invoicing: Odoo 19 will expand the invoicing app with follow-up actions, aged reports, bank sync, private-use expense handling, improved invoice sending, and PEPPOL integration.
  • Banks: Odoo 19 will simplify bank setup with a new wizard, support payment initiation with Ponto, extend sync coverage, and improve SEPA workflows.
  • Reports: Odoo 19 will improve reporting with a new engine, better PDF designs, annual and customer statements, and a lighter audit trail.

Odoo 19 continues expanding its global coverage, with localisation tasks initiated in over 50 countries from January 1st, 2025.

Expenses

Odoo 19 will introduce virtual and physical expense cards to streamline employee purchases, save time on reporting, and give managers full control over spending policies.

HR & Payroll

Odoo 19 will improve extra hour tracking by switching work entries to durations, allowing different compensation rates, and deducting payouts from the balance to pay.

Odoo 19 will revamp the Time Off module with a refreshed UI, support for public holidays on database creation, overlapping time off entries, and localised data without requiring payroll.

Odoo 19 introduces updates across payroll, recruitment, and related localisations:

  • Payroll: Odoo 19 will refactor the payroll app with improved contract inputs, a full history of records, and a merge between employee and contract data structures.
  • Recruitment: Odoo 19 will enhance the recruitment app with a better user experience and the addition of talent pools to manage candidates more efficiently.
  • Localisations: Odoo 19 will improve live payroll localisations in multiple countries, certify new versions for Australia and Switzerland, and prepare upcoming support for Mexico, Spain, Germany, and Indonesia.

ESG (Environmental, Social, and Governance)

Odoo 19 introduces a new built in feature to support sustainability reporting by calculating emissions based on invoice data, using preloaded emission factors for purchases like electronics, travel, or fuel - making it easy to get started with ESG tracking and prepare for upcoming EU requirements like the CSRD (Corporate Sustainability Reporting Directive).

Sign

Odoo 19 will revamp the Sign app UX with support for multi-document envelopes, a new interface for multiple signers, and more customisable field types like checkboxes, selection menus, and text formatting.

In-app purchases (IAP)

Odoo 19 now integrates with Dun & Bradstreet to auto-complete company info from a global database, giving you accurate partner data instantly.

With Odoo 19, you can send SMS messages via Twilio, with better deliverability, local compliance, and support for country-specific numbers.

Odoo 19 AI

Odoo now includes native AI features you can activate without any custom code or third-party apps. With server actions powered by AI prompts, you can automatically update fields or generate values. You can even define custom AI fields in Studio to dynamically compute text.

Odoo 19 also introduces AI agents that can chat with you and help handle tasks, with support for models like ChatGPT and Claude. These tools are also popping up in the chatter, email composer and editor, so users can expect smarter workflows across the board.

Odoo 19 Framework

Odoo 19 will add a multi-edit feature in calendar views, allowing users to define a preset, select a date range, and apply records in bulk.

The Gantt view in Odoo 19 will get smarter with zoom scaling, off-hour folding, drag-to-resize tooltips, and a new sparse mode for unscheduled tasks.

Odoo 19 expands automation with new triggers, message-sending options, and the ability to reorder server actions.

The mobile UI in Odoo 19 is redesigned for speed and clarity, with pull-to-refresh, compact status displays, and bottom sheets replacing drop-downs.

Odoo 19 introduces smarter Access Rights management with several key changes:

  • Instead of adding a user to all dependent groups, the implications are now computed to distinguish which groups are manually set.
  • A new interface makes it easier to customise groups, privileges (i.e. group lists per scope), and sections.
  • Access rights and record rules are merged to avoid breaches.
  • The concept of a “default user” has been replaced with default access rights, meaning that a user who installs an app will be granted access by default.

Odoo 19 will also deliver faster performance across the board:

  • Menus are now cached, making page loads up to 200ms faster.
  • Search performance has improved by replacing the “=” operator with “in”.
  • Read group logic was optimised to batch requests across multiple groups.
  • Calendar rendering is significantly faster, especially with large datasets.

New Industries in Odoo 19 

Odoo continues to expand its out-of-the-box industry templates. In Odoo 19, 7 new sectors are covered, including environmental agencies, bakeries, and personal trainers. Many other industries have received updates or are already in progress.

Odoo 19 introduces dedicated tools for membership management, excise tax handling, and warranty tracking. These features replace legacy flows and bring powerful industry-specific logic to CRM, inventory, and sales.
